Nigerian actress Kemi Afolabi has come to the defense of her colleague Mercy Aigbe, who recently suffered a devastating fire incident at her Lagos home.
Aigbe shared a video of the aftermath of the fire, which destroyed properties worth millions of naira. However, some social media users accused her of staging the incident to promote her upcoming movie ‘Thinline’.
An emotional Afolabi took to Instagram to beg the public to stop trolling Aigbe. She questioned why people would think her colleague would use such a tragic situation to promote her movie.
“How can someone allow her house to burn to promote a movie?” Afolabi asked. “I know we are human and nobody is perfect. All she needs is your support. Forget whatever you guys might have against her.”
Afolabi emphasized that Aigbe needs support, not online attacks, during this difficult time.
