Caroline Ejibunu, a Nigerian hairstylist, is set to attempt a new Guinness World Record for the most hairstyles created in a 24-hour marathon.
The event, dubbed the ‘Hair-a-Thon’, will take place on December 4 at City Walk 2.0, Ademulegun Road in Ondo state.
According to Carolaura, as she is fondly called, the exercise is designed to celebrate creativity, endurance, and innovation in the beauty industry, showcasing Nigeria as a hub of talent and ingenuity. She disclosed that she had received formal approval from the Guinness World Record organisers to embark on the attempt.
“The Hair-a-Thon is more than an attempt at a world record—it is a celebration of creativity, resilience, and the boundless potential of African artistry,” a statement released by Carolaura reads.
The event promises to be an exciting experience, with highlights including a record-making goal, live global engagement, celebration of talent, and community connection. The event will be live-streamed to audiences worldwide, offering an immersive experience for global viewers.
Carolaura invites active participation from local community members, beauty aficionados, and industry leaders. She also calls for sponsorship inquiries, which can be directed to her on 07069671767 or Ejibunu93@gmail.com, or Mr Orisamuyiwa Dickson on 08034425355.
Currently, there is no record holder for the most hairstyles made in 24 hours in the prestigious British reference book. However, the most consecutive haircuts in 24 hours by an individual is 526 and was achieved by Nabi Salehi of A&N Style Hair Studio, in London, UK, on June 4, 2011.
