Kess Adjekpovu, a former Big Brother Naija housemate, has criticized Wizkid’s latest album, “Morayo”.
Wizkid released the album after months of teasing. “Morayo” is a tribute to Wizkid’s late mother, Jane Dolapo Balogun, who passed away in August 2023.
Kess shared his thoughts on the album on X, saying: “Decided to listen to ‘Morayo’. Sleep catch me. Up and grateful. ‘Morayo’ still never sweet me. I guess it can’t grow on me.”
“Morayo” has received mixed reactions from listeners. Some have praised the album’s unique sound and artistic direction, while others have criticized various aspects of the project.
Wizkid gained prominence in 2011 with his debut album “Superstar”. He has since released four additional albums: “Ayo” (2014), “Sound From The Other Side” (2017), “Made In Lagos” (2020), and “More Love, Less Ego” (2022).
Wizkid has received numerous recognitions, including a Grammy award in 2021 for his collaboration with Beyoncé on “Brown Skin Girl”. In October, “Made in Lagos” was recognized as the most-streamed Nigerian album on Apple Music.
