Nicki Minaj has opened up about her collaboration with Davido on her latest single ‘If It’s Okay’.
A fan had asked Minaj what inspired her to work with Davido, to which she responded that she wanted to infuse an “Afrobeats feeling” into the song.
Minaj praised Davido, calling him an “incredible writer and melody maker”. She also appreciated the “mutual respect” they share, making their collaboration enjoyable.
“I asked him to be a part of it in order to bring out the Afro beats tempo/feeling in it a bit more. Nigeria to the world,” Minaj wrote.
‘If It’s Okay’ is part of Minaj’s album ‘The Pinkprint (Tenth Anniversary Edition)’, which includes four new tracks to celebrate the original album’s 10th anniversary.
