Nigerian singer Tems has revealed that music icons Beyoncé, Rihanna, and Drake reached out to her within a three-day span in 2020.
In a recent interview with BigBoy TV, the 29-year-old Grammy winner shared her journey to stardom, from collaborating with Wizkid on “Essence” to receiving messages from music legends.
“I didn’t imagine that I would become this big thing,” Tems said. “We did ‘Essence’ and things started going off. I started getting messages. Beyoncé reached out in 2020 and my mind was blown.”
Tems described the experience as “surreal,” feeling like she was dreaming. “I was in Nigeria when I got their messages. I was in my house alone when I got everything. In fact, I got their messages within three days of each other.”
The songstress has since collaborated with Rihanna on “Lift Me Up” for the “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” soundtrack and won her first Grammy award for “Wait for U” with Future and Drake.
Tems recently released her debut album “Born In The Wild” and made Barack Obama’s summer playlist with “Love Me Jeje.”
