Olowookere Confident About Flamingos’ Prospects At FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.
Head coach of Nigeria’s U-17 women’s football team, Bankole Olowookere, has expressed optimism about the Flamingos’ chances in the upcoming FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, set to take place in the Dominican Republic. The team arrived in Santo Domingo on last Thursday, promptly starting their training to adjust to the conditions ahead of the competition.
Olowookere assured that the players are well-prepared and will participate in warm-up matches before the tournament begins. He voiced his confidence in the squad’s ability to surpass their previous performance, where they secured a bronze medal in the 2022 edition. He also called on Nigerians to support the team with prayers as they aim for even greater success this year.
The Flamingos are placed in Group A, alongside the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, and New Zealand, and will be looking to build on their momentum from the last tournament. The championship is scheduled to run until 3rd November 2024.
