Osama bin Laden’s Son, Omar, Ordered To Leave France.
French authorities have ordered Omar bin Laden, the 43-year-old son of the late Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, to leave the country due to controversial social media posts. The decision, announced by France’s new Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau, stems from content Omar posted in 2023, which allegedly promoted terrorism.
Omar, who was born in Saudi Arabia and has lived in Sudan and Afghanistan, distanced himself from his father at the age of 19. He has resided in Normandy, northern France, since 2016. However, the recent social media posts led the prefect of Orne to issue an expulsion order on grounds of national security.
In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), Minister Retailleau confirmed that the courts had upheld the legality of this expulsion and imposed a ban on Omar bin Laden from returning to France “for any reason whatsoever.”
This move underlines France’s strong stance on protecting national security in the face of perceived threats related to terrorism.
