Osun State Named South-West Zonal Headquarters Of ITF.
The Industrial Training Fund (ITF) has officially designated Osun State as its South-West zonal headquarters. This development was announced in a statement released on Tuesday by Kolapo Alimi, Osun State’s Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment.
According to Alimi, the announcement was made to the Special Adviser to Governor Ademola Adeleke on Technical and Vocational Education, Arch Dapo Ademola-Adesina, by ITF management. This decision follows a proposal for collaboration between the Osun State Board for Technical and Vocational Education and ITF, initially presented by Ademola-Adesina during a courtesy visit on 30th May 2024.
The statement further revealed that the partnership will focus on vocational training initiatives, including the Skill-Up Artisans (SUPA) programme and the Student Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES), aimed at enhancing skills and employability in Osun State.
Alimi noted that the Director General and CEO of ITF, Dr. Afiz Oluwatoyin Ogun, sent a team to inspect vocational sites in Osun on 13th August 2024, leading to the approval of the state as the zonal headquarters.
This strategic partnership aligns with Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke’s vision of reducing unemployment and promoting skills development for economic growth in the state.
