The Lagos State Government has announced a temporary traffic diversion at the Ikeja Along bus stop, specifically between Ile Zik and Conoil Petrol Station, on the Oshodi-bound lane.

This diversion will be in effect from Saturday to Sunday, according to a statement by the Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi.

The diversion will occur between the hours of midnight and 4:00 a.m. daily, to facilitate the demolition of the old pedestrian bridge by the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA).

During this period, only one lane will be available to motorists on the affected section of the Oshodi-bound lane, from Ile Zik bus stop up to the Conoil Petrol filling station. This measure is aimed at ensuring the safety of road users.

Mr. Osiyemi assured that traffic on the Dopemu/Abule Egba-bound side of the road would not be affected by the demolition. He also noted that the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) will be on hand to manage vehicular movement and minimise any inconveniences.

The commissioner urged motorists to cooperate with the authorities during the diversion period. He also mentioned that the lanes would be cordoned off with jersey barriers and protective nets to enhance safety for both motorists and commuters.
