Abdullahi Maikaba Set to Return as Wikki Tourist Manager.
Abdullahi Maikaba has reportedly accepted an offer to manage Nigeria National League (NNL) side, Wikki Tourist, marking his return to the club for a second stint after his previous tenure in 2016.
The 59-year-old tactician is expected to be unveiled as the Bauchi Elephants’ new technical adviser later this week, bringing his extensive experience to the team once again.
Wikki Tourists have turned to Maikaba following their failure to secure promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) last season. The team finished third in the NNL Northern Conference Group A table, prompting the need for a seasoned manager to boost their prospects.
Maikaba is no stranger to Nigerian football, having managed several top NPFL clubs, including Kano Pillars, Rangers, Plateau United, Akwa United, and Enyimba. His return to Wikki Tourist is seen as a strategic move to revitalise the team’s performance and aim for promotion in the upcoming season.
Fans and club officials are hopeful that Maikaba’s wealth of experience and tactical acumen will lead the Bauchi-based club to new heights in the NNL.
