Tobi Amusan Wins Fourth National Title
World record holder in the Women’s 100m hurdles, Tobi Amusan, claimed her fourth Nigerian title at the ongoing Athletics Federation of Nigeria’s National Trials at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin-City as earlier reported by PUNCH.
Amusan powered through to the finish line with a time of 12.78 seconds, finishing ahead of Adaobi Tabugbo, who placed second with a time of 13.33 seconds.
The event, concluding today, serves as a selection trial for the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) to pick athletes for the Paris Olympics, the Africa Championships in Cameroon later this month, and the World U-20 Championship in Lima, Peru, from 27 to 31 August.
Although Amusan had already qualified for the Olympics, she executed her race smoothly in Benin-City to successfully defend her title.
