Kylian Mbappe to Join Real Madrid on Free Transfer (Govima Sports Report).
Kylian Mbappe has officially signed a contract to join Real Madrid on a free transfer, following the expiration of his Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) deal on 30 June. The France striker verbally agreed to the move in February and confirmed in May that he would leave PSG at the end of the season.
The 25-year-old has now finalized terms with Real Madrid and will make the move to Spain when the La Liga transfer window opens on 1 July. Real Madrid is expected to announce the deal next week, with plans to formally present Mbappe at the Bernabeu after Euro 2024. (As confirmed by Fabrizio Romano).
Mbappe, a World Cup winner in 2018, leaves PSG as the club’s record goalscorer, having netted 256 goals since his arrival from Monaco on an initial loan in 2017. His deal with Real Madrid extends until 2029, earning him 15 million euros (£12.8 million) per season, along with a 150 million euro (£128 million) signing-on bonus, to be paid over five years. Additionally, Mbappe will retain a percentage of his image rights.
This highly anticipated move marks a significant milestone in Mbappe’s career and bolsters Real Madrid’s formidable lineup as they continue to strive for dominance in European football.
