Odaudu Clinches Coach of the Year Award at BAL 2024
Following the impressive performance of Nigeria’s Rivers Hoopers in the 2024 African Basketball League (BAL), coach Ogoh Odaudu has been voted Coach of the Year. This prestigious recognition comes as a result of Odaudu’s exceptional leadership, guiding the Hoopers to remarkable success throughout the tournament.
The Nigerian champions defied expectations by emerging top in the Sahara Conference of the League, held in Dakar, Senegal. Under Odaudu’s guidance, the Hoopers triumphed over established teams such as AS Douanes, APR, and former champions US Monastir.
The 2024 Coach of the Year award was presented to Odaudu by BAL Head of League Operations, Ruben Boumtje-Boumtje. This accolade marks a historic moment, as Odaudu becomes the first Nigerian to receive the BAL Coach of the Year award.
Odaudu, a former point guard for the Nigeria national team, has successfully transitioned from player to coach, leading Rivers Hoopers to new heights and earning recognition for his outstanding contributions to the sport.
