Golden Eaglets’ Match Against Togo Rescheduled Due to Heavy Rain in Accra
The Golden Eaglets’ final Group B match against Togo has been rescheduled due to heavy rainfall rendering the pitch unplayable. Originally set for evening hours of today, the game will now take place at 9 am tomorrow at the University of Ghana stadium.
This announcement was made by team spokesman Francis Achi.
The adverse weather conditions have also impacted other matches. The game between Niger and Burkina Faso has similarly been postponed and will be played tomorrow at the same time as the Eaglets’ match. Furthermore, the heavy rain has caused a one-day delay for the Group B match between Togo and Niger.
Currently, Burkina Faso leads Group B with four points, holding a superior goal difference over the Golden Eaglets, who also have four points from two matches. The upcoming matches are crucial as teams vie for a spot in the semifinals.
Meanwhile, in Group A, hosts Ghana and Cote d’Ivoire have already secured their places in the semifinals, setting the stage for an exciting conclusion to the competition.
Fans and teams alike are hoping for clearer weather to ensure that the rescheduled matches can proceed without further delays.
