Public affairs analyst Sam Amadi has issued a warning to Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate Peter Obi, emphasising the necessity of support from his followers, the Obidients, for a successful 2027 presidential election bid.
Amadi took to X to highlight the importance of this support, stating, “NB: you cannot win the 2027 presidential election without the unalloyed support of the ObiDients. The ObiDients are all those who are angry against the status quo and want a change. It’s either @OfficialAPCNg remains or that change. APC lite cannot win against APC. It’s not 2015.”
Amadi’s comments come amid speculation of a possible political merger ahead of the 2027 elections. On Monday, Peter Obi met with the 2023 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar at his residence in Abuja. Additionally, Obi held separate meetings with former Senate President Bukola Saraki and former Foreign Affairs Minister Ibrahim Lamido.
The Labour Party has stated that these meetings are part of efforts to address the current hardships faced by Nigerians.
