Amidst the ongoing crisis in Rivers State, the factional Speaker, Victor Oko-Jumbo, leading the Pro-Fubara Assembly, has summoned Commissioner-nominee Danagogo Iboroma for screening and confirmation.
This comes in the wake of the recent resignation of Zaccaeus Adangor, the former State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, who declined a reassignment by Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
In a letter addressed to Iboroma and released to the press, the factional Clerk, Dr. G.M. Gillis-West, instructed the nominee to appear before the House on Monday at 10 am. The screening is scheduled to take place at the Hallowed Chamber, Rivers State House of Assembly Auditorium, Admin Block, Rivers State Government House, Port Harcourt.
“The Rivers State House of Assembly hereby invites the following Commissioner-nominee for screening and confirmation as a member of the Rivers State Executive Council. Danagogo I Iboroma, SAN,” the letter stated.
The decision to nominate Iboroma potentially fills the vacancy left by Adangor’s departure. Adangor’s resignation stemmed from his objection to being redeployed to the State Ministry of Special Duties within the Governor’s Office.
The letter emphasized the requirements for Iboroma’s appearance, stating, “The nominee is to come along with 10 sets of his Curriculum Vitae, photocopies of his credentials and the original.”
