Kano Governor Abba Yusuf has taken a significant step towards facilitating education for the youth by covering 50 percent of the registration fees for 1,740 newly matriculated students at Sa’adatu Rimi University of Education in Kano.
This announcement was made by the Commissioner for Higher Education, Dr. Ibrahim Yusuf, during the institution’s inaugural matriculation ceremony.
The Commissioner emphasised that this fee support was extended to all students irrespective of their political affiliations, underscoring the government’s commitment to ensuring that education remains accessible to all, especially the less privileged.
Dr. Yusuf further disclosed that the State Government has decided to halve the total school fees for both secondary and tertiary institutions, aiming to enhance educational opportunities for children from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
In response to these initiatives, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Yahaya Bunkure, expressed gratitude towards Governor Yusuf for his unwavering dedication to improving the educational sector in Kano.
He praised the government’s efforts in advancing education and providing avenues for the youth to excel.
Prof. Bunkure highlighted the strides made by Sa’adatu Rimi University in fostering academic excellence, citing it as a testament to the state government’s commitment to the educational development of Kano.
