Kylian Mbappe Announces Departure from Paris St-Germain
Kylian Mbappe in a heartfelt message shared on his social media accounts, has revealed that he will be leaving Paris St-Germain (PSG) at the end of the current season.
Mbappe, 25, expressed his decision in a video statement, saying, “It’s my last year at Paris St-Germain. I will not extend, and the adventure will come to an end in a few weeks.”
His contract with PSG is set to expire in June, and earlier reports from BBC Sport indicated that Mbappe has already agreed on a move to join Real Madrid in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Having joined PSG from Monaco in August 2017 for a staggering £165.7m, Mbappe has become the club’s record goalscorer, netting an impressive 255 goals during his tenure.
Reflecting on his time at PSG, Mbappe expressed gratitude towards the club, stating, “It allowed me to arrive here, to have my first experience in a club with a lot of pressure, to grow as a player of course, by being alongside some of the best in history, some of the greatest champions.”
Mbappe’s announcement comes as PSG prepares for his final home game at the Parc des Princes against Toulouse in Ligue 1, followed by away fixtures at Nice and Metz before the French Cup final against Lyon.
The striker’s journey at PSG has seen its share of ups and downs, including a recent Champions League semi-final defeat to Borussia Dortmund. Despite challenges, Mbappe emphasized his respect and appreciation for PSG, calling it a club that will remain in his memory for life.
As Mbappe looks forward to new challenges and experiences, fans are eagerly anticipating his next chapter with Real Madrid, marking the end of a remarkable era at PSG.
