Jorginho Extends Contract with Club: A Look at His Remarkable Career
Italian international midfielder Jorginho has committed his future to the Arsenal by signing a contract extension, solidifying his integral role within the team’s setup.
The 32-year-old joined the club in January 2023 from Chelsea and has since become a pivotal figure, making over 50 appearances across various competitions and leaving a significant impact on the field.
Jorginho’s football journey began with Hellas Verona in Italy, where he progressed through the youth ranks to become a key player for the first team, amassing a total of 96 appearances. His talent didn’t go unnoticed as he earned a move to Napoli in January 2014, where he spent four successful seasons, making 160 appearances and clinching the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana in his debut year.
His next chapter unfolded in England when he joined Chelsea in July 2018. During his nearly five-year tenure in southwest London, Jorginho made 213 appearances, contributed with 29 goals and eight assists, and collected four major trophies.
His impressive performances didn’t go unnoticed on the international stage, where he represented Italy 52 times since his debut in 2016, achieving remarkable success.
