The Ondo State Football Agency (ODSFA) is currently undergoing restructuring to enhance performance.
The restructuring spearheaded by the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Saka Yusuf-Ogunleye is meant to help salvage the season.
And one of the major part of this restructuring is the position of General Coordinator, held by Tokunbo Akinyelure, which has now been abolished. (As earlier reported by Sportgister)
According to Commissioner Yusuf-Ogunleye, Akinyelure will assume the role of Team Manager, replacing Seun Betiku effective immediately.
Akinyelure, previously serving as both team manager and general coordinator, will now focus solely on managing Sunshine Stars while also taking on the responsibilities of Welfare Officer for the team.
In turn, Betiku has been reassigned to lead the feeder team of Sunshine Stars (U-17). His experience as TM of Rising Stars, which fulfilled a similar role as the feeder team, makes him a suitable fit for this position.
Further adjustments include Ayo Adewumi, the club’s secretary and a senior staff of the Ministry of Information, being appointed as acting press officer for the agency. Meanwhile, Alex Daodu assumes the role of Acting Secretary for the club.
In terms of coaching, Oladimeji Abimbola, previously the Head Coach of Sunshine Queens, now serves as the Technical Director for Sunshine Stars U-17. Coach Ale has been redeployed as an Assistant Coach for Sunshine Stars U-17 under Abimbola’s leadership.
For Sunshine Queens, Coach Rafiu Oseni takes the helm as the new head coach, with Coach Nike Adekunle as his assistant. Former Sunshine Queens team captain Odunayo Adejoro is appointed as Assistant Coach 2, contributing her experience to the coaching staff.
Commissioner Yusuf-Ogunleye also addressed concerns about increasing numbers of hoodlums at the Ondo State Sports Complex in Akure, emphasizing the committee’s commitment to implementing measures to address this issue.
All these changes are effective immediately. Yusuf-Ogunleye concluded by appealing to the people of Ondo State for their continued support and prayers as they strive to revitalize the teams for improved performance.
