The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is gearing up to unveil the outcomes of the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
According to reports from Daily Trust, JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, is slated to hold a press conference in Abuja tomorrow, shedding light on the release of the results and associated matters.
However, it appears that the results to be disclosed tomorrow may pertain only to candidates who participated in the UTME during its initial days. Results for others are expected to follow suit once a process of “due diligence” is completed.
JAMB had previously clarified its decision to delay the result release, citing the necessity to meticulously examine the results to uphold their credibility and integrity. This scrutiny aims to address concerns such as impersonation, mixed biometrics, and other forms of malpractice.
Commencing on Friday, April 19th, 2024, the 2024 UTME has seen over 1.9 million candidates engage in the assessment across more than 700 Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers nationwide over the past week.
Historically, JAMB typically unveiled UTME results within a day or two after the examination. However, recent years have prompted a reevaluation due to accompanying contentious issues. As a result, the board has opted to exercise caution by conducting thorough scrutiny before releasing results and withholding those found in violation.
