Mikel Arteta Vows Support for Arsenal Players After Champions League Exit
Following Bayern Munich’s victory that knocked Arsenal out of the Champions League, Mikel Arteta expressed his determination to provide support and encouragement to his team amidst their recent setbacks.
Bayern secured a 1-0 win in Germany, sealing a 3-2 aggregate triumph in the quarter-finals. This defeat comes on the heels of Arsenal’s loss in the Premier League, where Aston Villa claimed a 2-0 victory.
“I wish I had the perfect words to lift the players’ spirits. What I will do, along with the coaching staff, is stand by them and offer our full support,” Arteta stated.
Expressing gratitude for his role as coach, Arteta acknowledged the challenges of facing experienced teams in the Champions League after a long absence from this stage of the competition.
“We haven’t been in this position for 14 years, and there’s a reason for that,” Arteta remarked. “While we aspire to progress quickly, we recognize the need to learn and grow as a team.”
Despite the disappointment, Arteta remains focused on the Premier League campaign, emphasizing the importance of upcoming matches and the team’s desire to contend for the title.
“We have a big game ahead on Saturday, and we are determined to show our capabilities and turn things around,” Arteta affirmed, highlighting the ongoing pursuit of success in the Premier League.
