The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State has acted against ward leaders who previously suspended the National Chairman of the party, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
Following an emergency meeting of the State Working Committee, chaired by Abdullahi Abbas, the state chairman, it was revealed that certain members, led by Inusa Sulaiman Dawanau, were engaged in anti-party activities. Abbas accused them of colluding with the ruling NNPP-led administration in the state to sow discord within the party.
“We have evidence of meetings between state government officials and those involved in the suspension of the national chairman,” Abbas stated firmly. “As a result, the state working committee has unanimously agreed to suspend them for six months.”
The party has swiftly adopted the recommendations and decisions of the Local Government Party Leaders to suspend the errant ward officials. Additionally, the state-level party is conducting an investigation into the anti-party activities of the culprits.
Previously, Inusa Suleiman Dawanau, Chairman of the APC Ganduje’s ward, had announced the suspension of Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje over allegations of corruption. The legal adviser to the party at the ward level, Halliru Gwanjo, cited the allegations levelled against Dr. Ganduje by the Kano State Government regarding bribery as the basis for the suspension.
