In a startling development, Pastor Paul Enenche, the founder of Dunamis Church, has come under fire from social media users after publicly rebuking a church member, Vera Anyim, over her testimony during Sunday Service at the Church’s headquarters in Abuja.
Vera had shared her testimony, claiming to have graduated from the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) the previous day with a B.Sc degree in Law. However, Pastor Enenche intervened, accusing her of falsehood, citing that there was no B.Sc in Law offered by NOUN.
Nevertheless, social media erupted with images from Vera’s graduation day and a confirmation list verifying her graduation from the Department of Law at NOUN.
Reportedly, Vera, who is reportedly a police officer, was asked to step down from the altar after her claim of obtaining a law degree was doubted by Dr. Enenche.
The incident has sparked widespread reactions online, with netizens delving into Vera’s academic background to validate her claims.
Actress Jemima lent her support to Dr. Enenche via Instagram, stating, “Pastor Paul is human. If someone lied to you like that unprovoked, wouldn’t you be annoyed? B.Sc in Law, lmao. What would prompt someone to give false testimony in church? I’m trying to comprehend it.”
Adding to the controversy, a user identified as Theo Abu on platform X raised questions about when Dr. Enenche would issue an apology for embarrassing Vera, especially given the emerging evidence confirming her graduation from NOUN. Abu speculated, “Either she experienced stage fright during the testimony, or there are serious flaws in the educational standards at NOUN.”
