During press briefing in Abuja, NERC Vice Chairman, Musilu Oseni, has announced the approval of a new electricity tariff for Band A customers.
The rate, set at N225 per kilowatt-hour (kWh), marks a threefold increase from the previous rate.
Band A customers, who constitute 15% of the electricity market, are defined as those receiving a minimum of 20 hours of electricity supply per day.
Oseni clarified that customers in other bands within the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry (NESI) will not be affected by this adjustment.
