The upcoming Diamond League season for 2024 is about to commence in Xiamen, China, and Tobi Amusan, the world record holder, is set to compete in the highly anticipated Women’s 100mH event scheduled for April 20th.
Having recently clinched the gold medal at the African Games, Amusan is among the elite athletes confirmed to participate in the 100mH event.
The star-studded lineup includes current world champions such as Danielle Williams from Jamaica, World indoor Champions Devynne Charlton, Olympic champion J. Camacho-Quinn, Masai Russell from the USA, Alaysha Johnson, Cyrena Samba-Mayela, Ditaji Kambundji, Yanni Wu, and Megan Tapper from Jamaica.
This thrilling event will take place at Egret Stadium, China, on April 20th, 2024.
Amusan etched her name in history as the second woman, following USA’s Dawn Harper, to secure three consecutive Diamond League 100m hurdles titles. She achieved this milestone last September in Oregon, clocking an impressive time of 12:33 seconds.
Her journey to Diamond League success began in 2021 when she claimed her first trophy with a time of 12.42 seconds. She then defended her title in 2022 by crossing the finish line in 12.29 seconds in Zurich.
