The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has praised Team Nigeria’s performance at the recently concluded 13th African Games in Ghana.
SWAN President Mr. Isaiah Benjamin, speaking at a post-African Games World Press Conference in Abuja addressed by Sports Development Minister Senator John Owan Enoh, credited the success to strategic measures by the Sports Ministry.
Benjamin highlighted Nigeria’s strong showing, securing second place out of 52 countries with 47 Gold, 33 Silver, and 41 Bronze medals.
He commended Minister Enoh’s management skills and proactive approach, ensuring athletes’ welfare and effective communication. He also acknowledged the efforts of Nigerian Sports Writers for their extensive coverage, boosting Nigeria’s positive image during the Games.
Benjamin urged the ministry to sustain momentum for the 2024 Olympics in Paris, France.
