The kingmakers of the Oyo State capital have convened a crucial meeting to initiate the process of enthroning Owolabi Akinloye Olakulehin as the next Olubadan of Ibadanland.
The gathering, spearheaded by prominent figures including Otun Olubadan Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, is aimed at ratifying Olakulehin’s ascension to the esteemed position of the 43rd Olubadan.
The passing of the 42nd Olubadan, Oba Mahood Olalekan Balogun, on March 14, 2024, marked a pivotal moment in the history of Ibadan’s traditional institution.
Now, with the funeral rites concluded according to Islamic customs, attention turns to the selection of a worthy successor.
Under the leadership of Ladoja, the statutory kingmakers, alongside members of the Olubadan-in-Council, are deliberating on the confirmation of Olakulehin’s candidacy.
Notable attendees include Eddy Oyewole Foko, Abiodun Kola-Daisi, Hamidu Ajibade, Adebayo Akande, Tajudeen Ajibola, Lateef Adebimpe, Kola Adegbola, Dada Isioye, and Abiodun Azeez.
