Recall that Nadeem Anjarwalla, the regional manager for Binance in Africa, has managed to escape custody, confirmed by the Office of the National Security Advisers (ONSA).
Anjarwalla, along with his colleague Tigran Gambaryan, was being held on charges of tax evasion when the escape occurred on March 22, 2024, from a guest house in Abuja.
Meanwhile, ,Zakari Mijinyawa, the head of strategic communication at ONSA, released a statement explaining that Anjarwalla fled Nigeria using a smuggled passport. This revelation has sparked an immediate response, with authorities arresting the personnel responsible for the suspect’s custody and launching a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the escape.
Meanwhile, Binance has emphasised that the safety of its manager remains paramount and has pledged cooperation with Nigerian authorities to address the situation.
