The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has successfully conducted a raid on a kidnappers’ hideout nestled within the Jibi forest, adjacent to Dei-dei in Abuja.
As disclosed by SP Josephine Adeh, the spokesperson for the command, the operation resulted in the arrest of one suspect.
According to a statement released via the command’s official channels on Monday, the crackdown unfolded at approximately 6 am on March 23, 2024. Upon the arrival of police operatives, the bandits fled the scene in a bid to evade capture.
The raid was spurred by credible intelligence indicating that Mallam Danyaboi and Ilu, known members of the gang led by Nasiru Mohammed, alias “Danger,” were planning a retaliatory kidnapping spree in Zuba and surrounding areas following the arrest of their accomplices.
During the operation, law enforcement authorities seized a cache of incriminating evidence, including firearms and livestock, from the criminals’ camp.
This successful intervention underscores the ongoing commitment of the FCT Police Command to combating banditry and ensuring the safety and security of residents within the capital territory.
