Morocco’s Jayed Jalal has been appointed as the referee for the upcoming FIFA international friendly match between Nigeria’s Super Eagles.
The 2023 AFCON silver medalists, and their arch-rivals, the Ghana Black Stars. The match is set to take place on Friday.
According to information obtained from the Ghana Football Association (GFA) the 36-year-old Jalal, who officiated at the recent Africa Cup of Nations in Cote D’Ivoire, will lead the match.
He will be assisted by fellow Moroccans Akarhad Mostafa (Assistant I), Brinsi Zakaria (Assistant II), and El Fariq Hamza (Fourth Official).
This encounter between the two West African powerhouses marks their first meeting since the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 play-off in March 2022.
During that encounter, Ghana advanced at Nigeria’s expense after a 1-1 draw in Abuja, following a goalless match at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
The international friendly is scheduled to take place at the Grande de Stade Marrakech in Morocco on Friday, 5pm Nigerian time in what promises to be an exciting clash between two renowned football nations.
