Omonia Cyprus has terminated the contract of former Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets star, Akin Amoo, due to his low productivity with the team.
Akinwumi Amoo rose to prominence for his role in propelling Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets to the second round of the 2019 FIFA U17 World Cup in Brazil.
After stints in Sweden and Denmark with FC Copenhagen, he joined Omonia in 2023. However, he struggled to secure regular playing time with the club.
The announcement of his contract termination was made on Tuesday via the club’s social media platform, citing personal reasons.
The club expressed gratitude for Amoo’s cooperation and wished him the best in his future endeavors.
