Ghana’s Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, is set to inaugurate the Legon Sports Stadium on Friday, March 1, 2024, in preparation for the upcoming 13th African Games.
Dr. Kwaku Ofosu Asare, President of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC), confirmed the ceremony, which will officially unveil the state-of-the-art sports facility and other amenities at the University of Ghana.
The Legon Sports Stadium, alongside neighboring facilities, will serve as a key venue for hosting various sports disciplines during the 13th African Games.
Football, rugby, athletics, and squash are among the sports that will be showcased at the sports facilities of the University of Ghana.
The inauguration marks a significant milestone in the preparations for the continental event, demonstrating Ghana’s readiness to welcome the rest of Africa for the quadrennial games.
