NPFL: Mid-week Results From Matchday 22

On Wednesday, match day 22 of the Nigeria Premier Football League kicked off with Heartland FC enduring a dismal home defeat against Plateau United.

 

NPFL Review

Plateau United thrashed Heartland FC 5:1 in ruthless fashion. They dominated the first half with goals from Olawale Doyeni, Lawrence Agbor, and Nenrot Silas, setting them up for a commanding lead. Victor Makalala and Harrison Ebah extended the lead to 0-5 before Onyekachi Okafor salvaged a consolation goal for the host team.





 

In another match, Rangers secured a victory over Remo Stars with Kenechukwu Agwu’s 56th-minute goal in Enugu.

 

Elsewhere, Sporting Lagos staged a comeback, overcoming Akwa United with a 2-1 win, courtesy of goals from Tochukwu Michael. Suleiman Sani scored the lone goal for Akwa United.

 

At the Ahmadu Dikko Stadium, Katsina United clinched a narrow 3-2 victory over Kano Pillars, with goals from Jonas Emmanuel, Azeez Falolu, and Nazifi Yahaya securing the win despite Mustapha Yuga and Mustapha Umar’s efforts for Pillars.

Meanwhile at the Akure Township Stadium, Sunshine Stars return to winning ways after defeating table toppers Lobi Stars by 2 goals to nothing.

In conclusion, Bayelsa United emerged victorious against Doma United in Yenogoa, with Ekerison Okorie netting twice to seal a 2-0 win.
