The highly anticipated international friendly match between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and world champions Argentina has been canceled yet again. (Govima Sport Reports)
Nigeria Vs Argentina International friendly match has been cancelled for the second time running.
Recall we earlier reported the cancellation of the anticipated match in early February due to Issues between Argentina star Lionel Messi and Chinese Authorities.
However on this occasion, several reports indicate that the cancellation this time around is stemmed from the insufficient time available to process visas for the Nigerian delegation.
Originally planned to be held in China, the venue was shifted to the United States of America due to a disagreement between Argentina’s captain, Lionel Messi, and Chinese authorities.
Instead of facing the Super Eagles, Argentina will now play against Costa Rica. Additionally, Los Albiceleste have another friendly scheduled against El Salvador in March.
With this cancellation, Nigeria will need to seek another opponent as they gear up for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin Republic in June
