President Bola Tinubu has issued the settlement of the outstanding electricity bill amounting to N342 million owed by the State House to the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC).
Following the earlier claims by the AEDC, which purported a debt of N923 million, the actual outstanding bill stands at N342.35 million, as clarified by the Presidency in a statement signed by Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on Tuesday.
With the statement titled ‘President Tinubu directs payment of State House electricity bill,’ Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, affirmed that the debt would be settled before the week’s end, assuring the AEDC of the imminent payment.
Furthermore, Gbajabiamila urged other defaulting Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to expeditiously clear their outstanding electricity bills.
