It’s No longer news that the Portuguese tactician was relieved of his duties at AS Roma about a month ago following some strings of poor form. Now the former Chelsea and Real Madrid Boss has reflected on being sacked by the Italian club.
Jose Mourinho while speaking during an interview with Rio Ferdinand recently, talked about his time at the Italian club and how hurtful it’s to be sacked by Roma despite giving his all.
José Mourinho: “Being sacked by AS Roma is the one that has been hurting me more. I gave everything”, told @FIVEUK.
“In these three years, I refused to become new Portugal head coach with the best national team ever!”.
“I also had a big proposal from Saudi Arabia”. He revealed.
Despite having to let go of such offers, AS Roma still couldn’t reciprocate by believing in him. He led the team to their first European trophy in a long while when he won the maiden edition of the Europa Conference League.
Mourinho who is currently without a club, likewise revealed he is bidding his time for a better project and he’ll be back in the dugout soon.
Many reports are suggesting he could switch to Germany with the current poor form of Bayern Munich, leaving Thomas Tuchel future hanging in the air.
In like manner, many Saudi Clubs are willing to offer the Special One an escape route to the Middle East.
When asked about the possibility of coaching an African national team, Jose responded:
José Mourinho: “I can’t go to Africa. Too much everywhere!”.
“I had Drogba, Geremi, Kalou, Obi Mikel, Essien… every time I go to Africa I can’t walk. The guys they love me!”.
“Even in Europe with many African guys people really loves me”.
“To be honest I love the guys and I feel that the African player is very loyal and very pure”.
However, It remains unclear where Jose Mourinho will be heading to, but one thing is certain the Portuguese Coach isn’t done!
For now we keep our fingers crossed to observe how things unfold in respect to Jose Mourinho.
