NPFL: Transfer News As Teams Shuffle Up Ahead Of The Second Half Of The 2023/2024 Season

NPFL update as Sporting Lagos, Rangers and others strengthens team ahead of the league’s resumption on the 14th of February 2024.

 

NPFL side Sporting Lagos have announced the signing of Kalu Chukwuemeka, who rejoined the club ahead of the second stanza of the 2023-24 Nigeria Premier Football League season.

Chukwuemeka had previously played for Sporting Lagos during their time in the Nigeria National League (NNL) last season. And He was pivotal in their charge for promotion to the NPFL.





Sporting Lagos made the announcement via their official X handle.

“He’s baaaaaaaack! Welcome home, Kalu,

Let’s start the next chapter,” the club wrote.

Chukwuemeka joined Wisdom Fernando and Tochukwu Michael as the club’s new signings.

With Sporting Lagos currently occupying 17th position on the NPFL table, the new signings will be hoping to boost their chances as the club bid to remain in the top flight.

 

Elsewhere, Katsina United have completed the signing of Jonas James from Nigeria National League side Abia Comets, James was unveiled as a Katsina United player at the club’s secretariat on Tuesday.

The winger was impressive for Abia Comets during the first half of the campaign.
He previously played for another Nigeria Premier Football League outfit, Niger Tornadoes.

 

Meanwhile from the East, Rangers United have completed the signing of six new players ahead of the second half of the 2023-24 Nigeria Premier Football League season.

 

The players are Uchenna Ezeala, Zulkifilu Rabiu, Odo Chidiebere, Ogbodo Emmanuel, Aniji Ifeanyichukwu Micheal and Nebo Kingsley.

Ezeala joined the People’s Elephant from Shooting Stars, Rabiu moved to the club from Lobi Stars, while Chidiebere joined from a Saudi Arabian club.

 

Ogbodo, Michael and Kingsley were both signed by the former NPFL champions from academy clubs in Enugu.

All the players have been unveiled by the club and joined the rest of the squad for the second half of the season.

The second half of the season is expected to resume on February 14 as announced the league management authorities.
