Jose Pesiero the Super Eagles’ boss, has said that he is not overly bothered about South Africa’s penalty-saving specialist Ronwen Williams.
Jose Pesiero will be in the dugout when three time African champions Super Eagles of Nigeria will be up against Bafana Bafana in Wednesday’s semifinal clash at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast. And the Eagles gaffer has given his opinion on the anticipated encounter.
When asked about the Bafana Bafana Goalkeeper heroics by Hot Sport, Pesiero answered “No. I think about the opponent, we observe the opponent, we want to beat them in the 90 minutes, 120 minutes or penalties,” he told Hot Sports.
The Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper has announced his presence at the tournament after he saved four penalties in South Africa’s win over Cape Verde.
The Portuguese coach suggested that his game plan will be based on how to nullify the threat posed by Bafana Bafana as a team and not a single player.
One major concern for Jose Pesiero will however be about his star striker Victor Osimhen, who was feeling unwell and yet to travel to Bouake with the team. Pesiero will be hopeful that Osimhen would recover and be declared fit later today to join the team ahead of tomorrow’s game.
