A private jet with 10 passengers, including Very Important Personalities (VIPs), crash-landed at the Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The jet, identified by its registration number N580KR, overshot the runway, narrowly avoiding a disaster. Firefighters and rescue teams from the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) swiftly responded to the scene, ensuring everyone’s safety.
This comes just months after a similar incident involving the Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, who miraculously escaped a crash landing at the same airport in November.
The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) confirmed the recent incident, stating that the private plane, originating from Abuja, landed safely despite the runway overshoot. Thankfully, no casualties were reported.
As investigations unfold, authorities emphasize the importance of safety measures and rigorous checks to prevent future aviation mishaps.
