In response to President Abat’s directive, Vice President Sen. Kashim Shettima has departed from Abuja to attend the 2024 annual meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
The Vice President is set to engage with global political and business leaders during the forum, addressing crucial global socio-economic and development issues. His agenda includes participation in the plenary session and the launch of the Private Sector Action Plan for the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCTA). He will co-chair this special session.
Furthermore, Sen. Kashim Shettima will conduct high-level discussions with key figures, including Makhtar Diop, the Managing Director of IFC, and Pham Minh Chinh, the Prime Minister of Vietnam.
In addition to his participation in the annual meeting, the Vice President will lead a roundtable dialogue on Nigeria’s economic trajectory. He is also scheduled to attend a dedicated session focusing on building trust in the global energy transition program.
The week-long event will see Vice President Shettima actively participating in various sessions and dialogues on both national and global economic matters. He is expected to return to Nigeria following the conclusion of the forum.
