During the Interdenominational Church Service for the 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration in Abuja, Akpabio asserted the commitment of President Bola Tinubu’s government to preserving Nigeria as an indivisible nation.
Highlighting the country’s diverse cultural, religious, and ethnic fabric, Akpabio urged unity and underlined the government’s dedication to enhancing national security.
He paid tribute to fallen armed forces members, emphasizing that their sacrifices contribute to the cohesion of Nigeria.
Akpabio urged collaboration among Christians, stakeholders, and the Tinubu-led government to address challenges that threaten the nation’s coexistence. Reflecting on recent events, including elections and leadership changes in 2023, he called for support for President Tinubu’s administration during essential times for Nigeria’s progress.
The Senate President stressed the need for stakeholders to set aside differences and work together for the nation’s betterment. He encouraged the church to support the government in rebranding Nigeria, spreading messages of love, tolerance, peace, unity, and progress.
Akpabio acknowledged the government’s determination to strengthen Nigeria’s oneness, pledging continuous policy evolution to address challenges faced by the Armed Forces and their families.
He commended initiatives such as the inclusion of veterans and their dependents in the Social Welfare Register, showcasing the commitment to the welfare of those who have sacrificed for the nation.
