Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, has passed away at the age of 67 in Lagos after a prolonged battle with Leukemia.
The late governor, who returned to Nigeria in September following a three-month medical leave in Germany, recently took another leave upon the directive of President Bola Tinubu. Akeredolu’s deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has assumed the role of Acting Governor.
The governor faced public outcry for governing remotely from Ibadan, Oyo State. In light of his health challenges, Akeredolu’s wife, Betty, has suspended her 70th birthday celebrations, citing unforeseen circumstances. Stay tuned for updates.
