The National Examination Council, NECO, has released the results of this year’s June/July Senior School Certificate Examination.
In the examination, 61.60% of students were recorded to have scored five credits and above in English Language and Mathematics.
The Registrar and Chief Executive Officer, CEO, Professor Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi made the announcement at NECO headquarters while briefing Journalists in Minna, Niger State.
Prof. Wushishi disclosed that a total of 1,205,888 students registered for the examination with 1, 196, 985 successfully seating for the exams, a number that comprises 616,398 males and 580,587 females.
When compared to the results of the 2022 SSCE of 60.74%, the 2023 SSCE showed a decrease of 0.86% in the number of candidates who scored five credits and above in the two subjects.
