President Muhammadu Buhari has urged the Armed Forces of Nigeria to remain resolute in time of the country’s security challenges.
According to him, until the issue of insecurity is surmounted, much more is still desired of the Armed Forces of Nigeria.
Buhari gave the charge during his remarks at the Armed Forces Regimental Dinner held in Abuja on Tuesday in his honour, in the lead-up to his exit from office next Monday.
“The Armed Forces of Nigeria and other security agencies must always remain resolute in the time of the country’s security challenges,” the President said.
“In this view, our administration, though winding down soon, will never relent in providing the needed support to the military to enable them to effectively carry out their constitutional responsibilities.”
He expressed his appreciation to the officers and soldiers of the Armed Forces — comprising the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Navy, and Nigerian Air Force — for their “unwavering loyalty, hard work, dedication, and selfless service to our beloved nation.”
The President told the military that he is “fully aware” of their sacrifices and commitments in tackling the myriad security challenges and their contributions to the successful elections in our country.
However, according to him, until the issue of insecurity is surmounted, much more is still desired of the Armed Forces of Nigeria.
