Avocado which is often used as a beauty treatment is more than just that.
According to a recent study seems to support claims that daily consumption of avocado could reduce high cholesterol in persons.
The research’s author, Professor Penny Kris-Etherton of Penn State University, claims eating one avocado every day for six months caused harmful cholesterol levels to drop. The study was published in the Journal of the American Heart Association.
A report stated that while avocados had no impact on weight gain or belly fat, the study nonetheless shows that they can be a healthy complement to a balanced diet.
The study revealed that eating one avocado a day did not result in weight gain and also slightly decreased LDL cholesterol, which are all significant findings for better health.
How does one get high cholesterol? When a person’s blood has an excessive amount of fatty material, they have high cholesterol, which can lead to a number of dangerous issues if left untreated. High cholesterol can be caused by overeating fatty foods, not exercising enough, smoking, and alcohol consumption.
Lowering the increased cholesterol in one’s body can aid in preventing heart disease or limit the harm that may result from a heart attack. The research findings showed the advantages of avocados for health.
923 participants were given the option of eating avocados daily or not at all for a period of six months. Over the course of the test, their cholesterol levels were checked. Avocado consumption was associated with lower LDL cholesterol levels.
Other experts, however, refute the study’s assertions. According to a nutrition site, studies suggest that reducing animal fats may lead to a decrease in “bad” cholesterol.
Additionally, it noted that avocados do not contain enough LDL cholesterol to make a significant difference. Whether or not this is the case, it is well known that avocados are rich in minerals including phosphorus, magnesium, and folate.
These nutrients are essential for a variety of bodily processes and are often associated with health. Consuming avocados as part of broader lifestyle decisions, such as maintaining a healthy, well-balanced diet, is the most excellent way to do so.
