In a bid to promote U.S. technology and expertise in infrastructure development, U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA), Director Enoh T. Ebong embarks on a three-day visit to Atlanta, from March 25-27.

The visit aims to highlight opportunities for Georgia-based companies to participate in USTDA-funded infrastructure projects across sub-Saharan Africa.

Director Ebong’s visit coincides with the Atlanta Phambili roadshow, led by U.S. Ambassador to South Africa, Reuben E. Brigety II, as part of the Prosper Africa initiative. During the roadshow, Director Ebong will emphasize USTDA’s commitment to facilitating sustainable infrastructure solutions in the region and fostering collaboration between U.S. and African businesses.

Atlanta, renowned for its innovation and connectivity, serves as a strategic partner for USTDA’s efforts to expand its portfolio of infrastructure projects throughout Africa.

Director Ebong will engage in various activities during her visit, including meetings with Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens, discussions with U.S. companies on business prospects in South Africa, and participation in investor roundtables.

Key highlights of Director Ebong’s agenda include addressing a Trade and Innovation Event, where she will underscore USTDA’s role in advancing Africa’s infrastructure for trade, and engaging with the Georgia Africa Legislative Caucus to explore avenues for promoting infrastructure development opportunities for Georgia’s business community in sub-Saharan Africa.

Moreover, Director Ebong will interact with students at Spelman College, aiming to inspire and educate future leaders on the significance of U.S.-Africa partnerships in infrastructure development.

In line with the Biden-Harris Administration’s priorities, Director Ebong’s visit aligns with initiatives such as Prosper Africa, the Partnership for Global Infrastructure and Investment, and the Digital Transformation with Africa Initiative.

It also reaffirms commitments made during the U.S.-Africa Leaders Summit in December 2022.

Director Ebong’s engagement in Atlanta reflects USTDA’s mission to support U.S. companies in exporting goods and services for infrastructure projects in emerging economies, ultimately contributing to job creation and economic growth both at home and abroad.

Through partnerships with local entities like the Georgia Department of Economic Development and Invest Atlanta, USTDA aims to further strengthen ties between the United States and Africa while advancing sustainable development goals across the continent.
