UK And US Conduct Joint Operation Against Houthi Militia In Yemen.

The British military has confirmed that it carried out a joint operation with US forces against the Houthi militia in Yemen, marking the first such operation since President Trump re-entered the White House. The operation, conducted overnight, aimed to degrade Houthi capabilities and prevent further attacks on UK and international shipping.

Typhoon jets using precision-guided bombs took part in the mission, targeting a cluster of buildings used by the Houthis to manufacture drones that have been used to attack ships in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden. The target was located approximately 15 miles south of Sana, the Yemeni capital.

The British Defense Ministry stated that careful planning was undertaken to reduce the risk to civilians and non-military infrastructure. The strike was conducted after dark, when the likelihood of civilians being in the area was reduced.

The Houthis have repeatedly attacked commercial and naval ships in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden since the fall of 2023, claiming solidarity with Palestinians under bombardment in Gaza. This joint operation follows President Trump’s order to intensify the campaign against the Houthis, known as “Operation Rough Rider”.

The US military has reportedly struck over 800 targets since the operation began. The joint operation comes after concerns were raised about operational security following Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s posting of sensitive details about a US mission in Yemen on the Signal messaging app.
