Super Eagles Defender Zaidu Sanusi Suffers Injury Blow

FC Porto head coach Sergio Conceicao has confirmed that Super Eagles’ defender Zaidu Sanusi has been ruled out for the rest of the season after suffering an injury in FC Porto’s weekend fixture.

The Super Eagles player picked up an injury in Porto’s 2-0 victory over Estrela da Amadora in the Primera Liga on Saturday, February 17, 2024.

Sanusi was stretched off after just 32 minutes In his first game for the Portuguese side since returning from AFCON tournament with Nigeria.

The 27-year-old was a regular for the Super Eagles during the just concluded Africa Cup of Nations  and even played in the final against Cote d’Ivoire.

His injury will definitely serve as a big blow to both FC Porto and Nigeria.

Porto will be without the Nigeria international player when they face off against Arsenal in the Uefa Champions League on Tuesday.
