Presidency Announces Grand Prizes For MSME Of The Year Awards.
The Presidency has announced that the overall winner of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) of the Year Awards will receive a car, a house, a shop, and a cash prize, with the total package valued at N220 million.
Winners in other award categories will also walk away with prizes worth over N50 million each following a transparent selection process overseen by a screening committee. This committee comprises various government agencies working in collaboration with the Office of the Vice President.
The agencies involved include the Standards Organisation of Nigeria, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria, Federal Inland Revenue Service, National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, Nigeria Sugar Development Agency, Industrial Training Fund, and Bank of Industry, among others.
Speaking at a press briefing on the selection process for this year’s seventh edition, the Senior Special Adviser to the President on Job Creation and MSME, Mr Temitola Adekunle-Johnson, revealed that a new category for persons living with disabilities had been introduced. This group would receive special consideration and have the opportunity to compete for various prizes.
Adekunle-Johnson emphasised that the initiative aligns with the Bola Tinubu-led administration’s commitment to fostering growth among both established and emerging entrepreneurs across the country.
